Fika is connection. Fika is a social activity. Fika is an informal meeting. Fika is to slow down and appreciate the moment. Fika is a tea or coffee break. Fika is to connect with each other over tea and cake. Fika is an important part of the Swedish culture. Fika breaks are breaks that are a deeply established part of Swedish life and work culture.

Fika Wellbeing WOrkshops

Fika is the Swedish way to pause and connect. Fika are breaks that are a deeply established part of Swedish life and work culture. These pauses are at least 15 to 20 minutes long and occur twice daily: one in the morning around 10am and one in the afternoon around 3pm.

This workshop will introduce your organisation to fika, give ideas on how you can incorporate fika into your organisations weekly routine and the session will also give you the opportunity to fika together.

ONLINE Fika Fridays

Connect with people from all around the world every Friday. I have set up a free virtual fika, join for a 30 minute pause. Make yourself something to drink and bring something to munch on.

The conversations have been around;

  • What we are drinking and eating

  • How the week has been

  • Weekend plans

  • Culture and traditions

  • Interest and hobbies

I am passionate about bringing fika into people's lives and workplaces.

☕️ I have successfully introduced fika to a wider audience via my LinkedIn, as part of my current job role and at my previous workplace.

☕️ I facilitated a drop-in Fika event at South Devon College where more than 200 colleagues attended and enjoyed a hot or cold drink with something to eat. Throughout the month of January 2020 we had a Fika offer; a free piece of cake when a hot drink was bought. More than 1,000 pieces of gooey chocolate cake (based on my grandmother's recipe) were claimed.

☕️ I have also delivered wellbeing fika workshops to local and regional organisations and companies in Devon as part of my previous successful project; Wellbeing Works.
